I just celebrated my birthday and yet I still feel like I am 15 years old!

I don’t know where the last fifty years have gone. It seems I was just graduating from high school a few minutes ago and now I find myself becoming more younger every day.

There are some benefits to becoming older. I must admit that I love the discounts and other opportunities for us “Young at Hearts”. And my doctor says my last physical indicates that I am still in pretty good shape!

The quest for wisdom has been an almost daily pursuit of my life. Life is like a game; the more you understand about how it is played, the better results you will get.  I enjoy talking to those who are older than I am and gaining wisdom from their life’s lessons. I have learned a lot about life yet I am still learning. So for your birthday, whenever that may be, I would like to share some wisdom that I have acquired over the years.

1) I have learned to go easy through life, to proceed at a peaceful pace. Now I don’t have to push so hard. I can move ahead in gentleness and in harmony. Anything that destroys my peace of mind and life is not good for me, or for anyone else, for that matter. I find laughter brings much joy to my heart.

2) I have learned that I don’t have to be in so much of a hurry. I am only required to do no more than I can do in the moment. I don’t have to rush into my next project. I do need to begin, but I do not have to force the beginning… especially if it is not the right time. Beginnings arrive at their proper time and you flow with laughter along the way.

3) The middle is the heart of every matter.  I have learned that the middle is very important: it makes up the largest part of life. I am not talking about “middle age;” I am talking about the time and journey of life — the growth part — not just trying to reach some goal or destination or end, unless it’s to laugh more often than I already do.

4) I have learned not to be in too much of a hurry to finish something. I can give myself fully to each moment along the way and get the most from everything that I do. I can enjoy the final moments of something if I am not in a hurry to be finished. When I say “I will be glad when this is over,” I have learned that I may have missed an important lesson, especially when I could have missed the opportunity to laugh with my laughter friends .

5) Marriage, children, grandchildren, family, business relationships are all loaded with extra enjoyment, goodness and sweetness, if  I will only take the time to pay closer attention to my heart.

6) I have learned to let go of the habit of being anxious, upset and “ticked off” when things don’t go my way. Having lost money, relationships, jobs and friends over the years, I now have the power to replace bad situations with good ones. I can be at peace with myself and those around me. I have learned to be in harmony with daily life, my creator, business, money, relationships – – and most of all, with my child-like spirit!

7) I have learned that painful and disappointing events often happen for a reason and for a much higher purpose than I could have ever imagined. I can see that things don’t happen “to me” – they happen “for me”.
Very good, very good, YEAH!

Regardless of your age or where you are on life’s journey, I hope you will consider what I have shared. Remember that life is meant to be lived in love, joy, laughter and peace. I certainly hope that you will take what I have learned and use them to continue to grow every step of the way!

So, whenever your birthday comes along, Happy Birthday in advance — and I hope you are becoming everything in life that you were meant to be!

 Happy Birthday to you!

Love & Laughter blessings
